Paint the Rock

Documentary with Luther Memorial Church
Time: 7:00 p.m.
Location: Luther Memorial Church

"Finding Hygge" is a documentary exploring Denmark's secret to happiness.  For those seeking happiness, this exploratory documentary travels the globe to discover the true meaning of hygge and how to find it.  The film will be sponsored by and shown at Luther Memorial Church. There will be refreshments and snacks provided! All are welcome!  Watch the trailer here.

This annual event celebrates the 2021 alumni award recipients, 1896 Club donors and gives a special welcome to the 50-year reunion classes of 1970 and 1971. Tickets can be purchased here.

Take a tour of the newly renovated and remodeled Luther Memorial Church and learn about our deep-rooted Danish traditions, ministry projects, and future plans.

The NEXUS Institute & Moses Project with Luther Memorial Church

Kate Faas, Director of The NEXUS Institute, and Trisha Wheelock Ph.D., Director of the Moses Project, invite you to learn about the impact and reach of these programs on campus, Luther Memorial Church, and the greater church communities in the Midwest and beyond. NEXUS engages high school-aged youth through summer theological programming while the Moses Project provides professional development and support to rural ELCA pastors so they can maintain strong ministries and thrive.

Session 2

Documenting the Grand View Experience Throughout the Years 
11:00 a.m. - Student Center Principal Conference Room B

Sheri Muller, Grand View University Archivist, invites you for a session that will describe and show the methods through which generations of Grand View students have documented their student experience dating back to 1896. Throughout the years, resources available, student attendance, technology, and more have influenced the ways that students record their time at Grand View. The session will conclude with a brief overview of how current students record their time as Vikings while living in a fast-paced digital environment.
