Homecoming 2019

Each year, GV alumni and friends gather on campus for Homecoming. You're invited to return to reconnect with your classmates, professors, and friends September 23-29!

  • Paint the Rock
    4:30 p.m. | Humphrey Center

    Alumni are invited to join Grand View students for a Homecoming themed rock painting. Supplies provided.
Monday, September 23
  • Student Powderpuff Football
    6:50 p.m. | Johnson Wellness Center Field House

    Teams must sign up in advance. Pizza and Gatorade provided. Prizes awarded to fans for most spirited, best dressed, etc.

    A gathering for spirited singing of sacred songs. Local brew from Confluence and root beer on tap. Hosted by Campus Ministry and Luther Memorial Church. Bring your voice, and bring your friends!

  • 1896 Club Dinner
    6:00 p.m. Cocktails | 7:00 p.m. Dinner & Program | Student Center

    This annual event celebrates the 2019 alumni award recipients, 1896 Club donors, and gives a special welcome to 50-year reunion class of 1969. $35 tickets are available for purchase here, through September 15.

    50-year reunion attendees, alumni and Grand View alumni employees are invited to CJ's Place to chat and enjoy a complimentary light breakfast sponsored by Grand View Alumni Relations.

    Alumni are invited to embrace Grand View's tradition of lifelong learning by taking in a brief lecture presentation on various topics. More program details coming soon.

  • Des Moines' Annual Oktoberfest
    3:00 p.m. | Downtown Court Avenue District

    Those looking for Saturday evening activities are encouraged to attend Oktoberfest in Downtown Des Moines.  Complete with the Craft Beer Village, Lederhosen Lane, and the Silent Disco Party Plaza! Check out all Oktoberfest has to offer! Festival runs 3 pm - 1 am both evenings. AND, Grand View’s own Dr. Paul Brooke, Professor of English, is set to compete in the Charity Stein Holding Competition at 5:00 PM.  Purchase your tickets now and cheer Dr. Brooke to victory!

    Luther Memorial Church invites all alumni, friends and students for a Homecoming inspired church service. LMC is meeting at the Speed Lyceum during their building renovation and construction.
