Math Placement for Incoming Students
All students in their first year at Grand View will begin with different backgrounds and levels of preparation in math because each high school is different. Therefore, Grand View gives you the option of taking a math placement assessment. If you do not take this assessment, then you will be placed in a math course based on your major and your ACT/SAT score. If you want to be placed based on the math that you have learned so far, then take the math assessment. Be sure to put forth your best effort and take the time needed on the math placement assessment to reflect as best as possible what you have learned in math so far. You are allowed to use a graphic calculator for the Math Placement Assessment.
If you are going to take the Math Placement Assessment, please complete it by May 15th.
Note: If you do not have an ACT/SAT score and plan on one of the majors listed below, you should take the math placement.
