Dr. Bonnie Hall Presents at ASBMB Conference

Dr. Bonnie Hall, Assistant Professor of Chemistry, attended the ASBMB meeting "Transforming Undergraduate Education in the Molecular Life Sciences" conference, in San Antonio, TX. This is a biennial conference focused on effective teaching and communication of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. While there, she presented a short talk, "Use of a Popular-press Non-fiction Book to Improve Student Learning and Engagement in a Biochemical Techniques Course."
Dr. Hall also presented a poster summarizing the research results of several GV Biochemistry majors, who are participants in a CURE (Course Based Undergraduate Research Experience) as part of the BASIL project (Biochemistry Authentic Scientific Inquiry Laboratories). She is a member of the BASIL project, and will be utilizing this CURE curriculum in one of her courses this year. The poster title was "Implementation of the BASIL CURE to Characterize Putative Kinases with a Solved Structure but Unknown Function".
