BESO (Bilingual Education Student Organization) Present at ICLC Conference

Grand View faculty and students representing the BESO (Bilingual Education Student Organization), presented at the ICLC (Iowa Culture and Language Conference) in Iowa City on November 6. The mission of the Iowa Culture and Language Conference is to advocate for culturally and/or linguistically diverse students and their families, educators, and service providers.

Their presentation was titled "Grow Your Own Spanish/Bilingual/ESL Teachers; Creating BESO Groups." Lindsay P. Grow, Ed.D., Associate Professor and Education Department Chair, talks about the content of their presentation, "it was focused on sharing what we have developed at Grand View related to BESO and connecting with how high schools can develop BESO groups to encourage students to choose a career in education."
