Grand View Choir to Host Home Concert and Reception Following 2026 Spring Tour
March 25, 2026
Grand View University invites the community to a special home concert on Sunday, April 19, celebrating the return of the Grand View Choir from its 2026 spring tour. During the tour, the ensemble shared its music with audiences in churches and concert venues across the region, offering a diverse program that reflects both the choir’s musical excellence and its commitment to meaningful, expressive performance.
The tour included stops in Minnesota, North Dakota, Montana, South Dakota, and Wyoming. Under the direction of Dr. Joshua Boggs and accompanied by Rachel Cohen on piano, 31 talented Grand View University musicians performed at congregations across four states, including a special workshop with the Bozeman Symphony Chorus in Montana. Along the way, the choir enjoyed sightseeing, including a day at a national park in Montana and a visit to Mount Rushmore. View photos from the tour here.
The tour’s program, Journey: Love through Time and Change, explores themes of connection, resilience, and growth through a wide range of choral works. The repertoire features a blend of traditional choral literature and contemporary selections, highlighting a variety of styles, cultures, and musical perspectives. Each performance on tour provided students with the opportunity to connect with new audiences, grow as musicians, and represent Grand View University through music.
The home concert brings that experience back to campus, giving the local community a chance to hear the same program performed on tour and to celebrate the choir’s journey.
The afternoon begins at 2:15 p.m. in the Lykke Center with a choir reception open to guests. Attendees are encouraged to stop by, enjoy a cookie, and celebrate the choir’s accomplishments. The event will also include a moment to recognize and say farewell to graduating seniors. Music merchandise will be available for purchase during this time.
At 3:00 p.m., the Grand View Choir will present its home concert in the sanctuary. The performance reflects the artistry and growth of the ensemble throughout its tour and provides a meaningful opportunity for the campus and local community to share in the experience.
Admission to the concert is free, though guests are encouraged to register online in advance. A recommended donation of 10 dollars per person is appreciated. Contributions help support future choir tours and help ensure that students are able to participate in these opportunities without financial barriers.
The home concert serves as both a culmination of the choir’s tour and a celebration of its students, offering an afternoon of music, reflection, and community.
