Grand View Faculty and Students Present Research at Regional Athletic Training Conference
March 26, 2026
Grand View University faculty and students were well represented at the Mid-America Athletic Training Association conference, held earlier this month at the Iowa Events Center.
Emma Nye, Assistant Professor, and Jessica Edler Nye, Associate Professor of Athletic Training, presented a session titled “From Adverse Childhood Experiences to Academic and Clinical Success: Trauma Informed Strategies for Athletic Training Students.” Their presentation explored how understanding the impact of adverse childhood experiences can help educators better support athletic training students.
The Mid-America Athletic Training Association conference brings together athletic trainers, educators, and students from across the region, including Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, North Dakota, and South Dakota. The event provides a platform for sharing research, innovative practices, and professional development within the field of athletic training.
In addition to faculty contributions, Grand View students also made an impact during the conference’s student poster presentations. Kaela Eslinger, Laney Jones, and Kennedy Tunink each presented case studies, showcasing their hands-on learning and clinical experiences.
Congratulations to Emma Nye, Jessica Edler Nye, Kaela Eslinger, Laney Jones, and Kennedy Tunink for representing Grand View University at the conference and for their contributions to the field of athletic training.
