Grand View Choir to Perform Home Concert

April 5, 2018

The Grand View University Choir traveled on a ten-day 2018 Spring Tour through Iowa, Missouri, Indiana, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and New York. They will perform their Home Concert on Sunday, April 8 at 3:00 p.m. in Luther Memorial Church. The Grand View Choir tours extensively throughout the United States as well as regularly in Europe. Wherever they sing, they have been praised for their excellence in musicality, blend, programming, and attention to detail.

The tour program, New Life Will Grow, arises from the Christian church’s Lenten and Easter seasons as well as the springtime around us in nature. It draws us into the hope that Christ’s death and resurrection brings. In doing this, the concert program consists of masterful works from the sacred choral tradition. Theology in song shines through the magnificence of ancient chant in modern guise, masterful renaissance polyphony, and moving works by modern composers, including Robert Speed, Alice Jordan, Stephen Paulus, Elaine Hagenberg, Connor Koppin, Alice Parker, and Moses Hogan.
