Grand View University Marketing and Communications Department Honored as 2025 Marketing Department of the Year

Grand View University's Marketing and Communications Department has been recognized as the 2025 Marketing Department of the Year by the American Marketing Association (AMA) Iowa Chapter. This prestigious award was presented at the 20th annual NOVA Awards ceremony held on May 6, 2025, at Principal Park in Des Moines, Iowa.

The NOVA Awards, referred to as the "Grand Slam of Marketing," celebrate the most innovative and effective marketing achievements across Iowa. The Marketing Department of the Year category specifically honors in-house teams that demonstrate exceptional creativity, strategic execution, and measurable results. Grand View’s Marketing and Communications team earned top recognition for its integrated approach to branding, digital outreach, and community engagement.

Judging for the 2025 NOVA Awards was conducted by AMA chapters from Houston, Wichita, and San Diego, ensuring a fair and comprehensive evaluation by marketing professionals from across the country.

The award-winning team includes Kendall Dillon, Vice President of Marketing and Communications, along with Rachelle Mitchell, Todd Bailey, Julie Probst, Mason Whitham, Nathan Wilkins and Doug Wells. The team's collaborative efforts and creative excellence have set a new standard in higher education marketing.

President Dr. Rachelle Keck praised the team’s impact, stating: “Through collaboration efforts, creative thinking, and a deep understanding of the university’s brand, the marketing department consistently delivers results that resonate with our diverse audience.”

Deb Barger, Vice President of Enrollment Management, emphasized the team’s responsiveness and effectiveness: “The team is creative, nimble, and able to pivot on a dime when situations require it. They capture the essence of who GV is in all that they do and position the university well in the market.”
