Grand View to Host Latinos in Action Conference

April 11, 2022

Grand View is proud to host the Latinos in Action leadership conference on May 4, 2022. The conference begins at 10 a.m. with an opening ceremony where all students and teachers in attendance will be gathered together. Dr. Enriquez will begin the conference with words of encouragement and recognition. There will be a cultural performance in the opening ceremony followed by a keynote speaker, Franklin Mejias Castellanos. Franklin is a former LIA student who has a message of hope, strength and determination to becoming a leader and role model as a quadruple amputee. His story truly is amazing and inspiring for young students.

After Franklin's remarks the afternoon will consist of leadership workshops and presentations. Students will engage in dynamic presentations centered around the "Trust In Me" theme along with various themes of leadership, professionalism and college and career readiness. The students rotate through workshops with lunch being part of the rotation. A closing ceremony for the conference begins at 1:55 pm. Everyone is brought together, there is a performance and student recognitions take place. Dr. Enriquez will culminate the conference by 2:35 pm.

The experience is about coming together as leaders and famiLIA to encourage, motivate and inspire our youth. View a conference highlight video.
