Grand View’s First Year Class Exceeds Last Fall’s by 13%; 5th Largest Class

October 18, 2022

Opposing national trends, Grand View University began its fall 2022 semester with one of the largest increases in new student enrollment in the liberal arts college’s recent history. This year, Grand View is excited to welcome the 5th largest incoming first year student class in the history of GV and a 13% increase in first year student enrollment. The university also saw an increase in transfer enrollment bringing the total enrollment to 1,839 students.

“We are thrilled by these numbers and are excited for the future of Grand View” said President Dr. Rachelle Keck. “These outcomes are the result of strategic work and excellent execution. Deep gratitude goes out to our enrollment team, our coaches, our faculty, and our student success support staff for working together to bring in this incredible class.”

Academic and athletic offerings, a return to normalcy after the COVID-19 pandemic, and new directions that have energized the university have contributed to the increase in students. Grand View is attracting students from outside of Iowa, 21 states, as well as adding diversity to its student body. 23% of this class is from out of state with 30% from diverse ethnic backgrounds.

Ryan Thompson, Grand View Director of Admissions, says, “We are excited to welcome our Fall 2022 class of incoming first year and transfer students. We enjoyed working with this group of talented students and we can't wait to help them achieve their goals and dreams.”
