Grand View Welcomes New SKOL Drumline Director, Hunter Grace
August 20, 2025
Grand View University is proud to announce the hiring of our new SKOL Drumline Director, Hunter Grace! You can catch Hunter and the Drumline bringing the energy to the sidelines this fall.
Hunter performed with the drumline while attending Iowa State University and now serves as the State STORM Drumline Instructor and varsity quad tech. Outside of college band, he has performed in both DCI and WGI and has also taught within both circuits. He currently serves as president and executive director of Crossroads Indoor, an indoor percussion and guard ensemble based in Des Moines.
Dr. Joshua Boggs, Director of Musical Arts, shared his excitement: “The SKOL Drumline has brought an electric energy to student and athletic events at Grand View. Hunter’s experience and enthusiasm will propel this growing group into a steady presence on campus and in the Des Moines community. I can’t wait for our students to work with him.”
Grand View University offers music scholarships for instrumental, choral, and drumline ensembles. Interested students are encouraged to sign up for a music scholarship audition or email music@grandview.edu to learn more. Boggs says, “We are one of very few programs to offer a drumline scholarship. It’s one of the things that makes our program unique and well-suited for serious players.”
