Liz Richardson Named 2026 Academic Honors & Awards Speaker

Grand View University is proud to announce Liz Richardson as the student speaker for the 2026 Academic Honors & Awards Ceremony, an annual event celebrating academic excellence, leadership, and student achievement.

Richardson, a senior communication and media practice major from Clear Lake, Iowa, currently serves as the 2025–26 Student Body President. Throughout her time at Grand View, she has distinguished herself as a dedicated leader committed to servant leadership and fostering meaningful connections across campus.

Her involvement spans a wide range of organizations and experiences, including roles as an Admissions Ambassador, member of View Crew, Viking Council, Viewfinder Media, Video Production Club, and Viking Brigade. Through these opportunities, Richardson has embraced leadership as a daily practice rooted in relationships, authenticity, and intentional action.

Richardson credits her Grand View experience with shaping her belief that meaningful leadership is built through small, consistent moments that positively impact others. She is passionate about using her voice to uplift those around her and to create a strong sense of belonging within the campus community.

Following graduation, Richardson will begin her professional career with the Denny Elwell Company as a commercial real estate sales and leasing associate. She looks forward to continuing her work in building connections and strengthening communities.

The Academic Honors & Awards Ceremony will take place on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, from 3:30–5:00 p.m. at the Courtyard by Marriott in Ankeny, Iowa. Graduating seniors from honor societies, academic programs, and other campus leadership groups will be recognized for their accomplishments, with Richardson delivering the student address.
