MO Exhibit and Publication features Grand View Faculty and Alumni
June 15, 2016
The creators of MO invite you to attend the unveiling event!
MO is a multimedia, interactive exhibit to celebrate the unveiling of the pilot edition of MO, a digital publication. The exhibit, featuring the work of the artists in the publication, will open Wednesday, June 22, 6-9 p.m. at Moberg on Walnut, 520 Walnut Street, in downtown Des Moines.
Featured artists are Alex Braidwood, Anna Cowley Ford, Professor of Art and Design Mary Jones, Nicolas LaPole ’14, Rachel Merrill, and Assistant Professor of Art and Design Cyndi Wiley. Project editor is Associate Professor of English Josh Call. The works explore diverse spaces of human experience – the soundscape of Iowa, chronic illness, transitional urban corridors, dystopian anxiety, competitive performance, and femininity.
The artists in this pilot edition all live and work in both the Des Moines metro area and Ames. Their work showcases the growing intersection between the arts and technology. In the words of participant Rachel Merrill: “MO is a place active in development and delivery. It a place to experiment and explore–to construct non-tangible ideas into a central location.”
We hope to see you at our event as well as the other celebrating Art Week Des Moines.
Support for MO provided by the Iowa Arts Council, a division of the Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs, and the National Endowment for the Arts.
