The first play ever written by RAYGUN’s Mike Draper, NO COAST will be brought to life with “Iowa Nice Guy” Scott Siepker in a starring role, and Grand View’s Kristin Larson directing. Produced by Goldfinch Theater.
PLOT & DESCRIPTION:
It’s Friday, August 21st in Des Moines: The State Fair has ended and with the Iowa Caucuses only a few months away, the political race on both sides is heating up — Clinton, Bernie, Bush, Cruz, Rubio, and Trump. Against that backdrop, Nick Strietman feels like his clothing store, No Coast, is on the cusp of a region-wide expansion. With a wealthy investor now behind the store, Nick is amassing national attention and reaching for the company’s next rung. But in the course of a few hours, everything seems to turn upside down.
Though about a clothing store in Des Moines, NO COAST is not the story of RAYGUN, but a re-imagining of a clothing store and all that goes into it.
The result is the greatest play ever written about t-shirts, beards, bank fraud, and Midwestern culture.
WHAT WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE SAID ABOUT ’NO COAST':
“Wozers! No one has ever created theater of this caliber! Mike, Scott, and Kristin based the bar to an unmatched level!”
