Printober Steamroller Printing this Saturday!
October 18, 2016
Get ready for some inky fun on Saturday – for artists, art lovers, and people who love spectacle. The name of this event says it all: printmaking … with a steamroller. Hosted by Christensen Development at 215 East 3rd Street in Des Moines and with the support of the Greater Des Moines Public Art Foundation, Grand View students and other area artists will use a steamroller to print enormous woodcuts that are too big for a traditional press. The process is fun, messy, rewarding, fun to do and amazing to watch! Finished prints will be displayed at Drake University’s Weeks Gallery, Grand View University’s Prairie Meadows Gallery.
This event is one of several Printober events taking place in Des Moines throughout the month of October. Additional support has been provided by Grand View University Art & Design, Moberg Gallery, and Neumann Brothers Construction of Des Moines.
Date: Saturday, October 22, 1-4 PM. Place: 215 East 3rd Street, behind the Iowa Taproom. Free and open to the public!
