Reserve Your Garden Plot Today

May 21, 2020

The Grand View Community Garden is a cornerstone of the commitment we made to our neighbors through the Views Forward Program. And there is still time to reserve a garden plot in the Grand View University Community Garden.

This year, because of the extraordinary times we are living in and the need to provide safe, consistent access to fresh food, Grand View is not charging a fee to rent a garden plot.  Instead we are asking our gardeners to consider a $25 donation to either DMARC or the Food Bank of Iowa to support their efforts to keep our neighbors fed throughout the pandemic. Because he feels so strongly about the need to meet the food needs of our community, Grand View President Kent Henning and his wife, Carole, have agreed to match all donations made to DMARC and the Food Bank by our gardeners up to $500. To have your donation matched by Kent and Carole, send an email to  viewsforward@grandview.edu with a confirmation of your donation.

All gardeners already receive free access to water on site and a tool shed in addition to their 8'x8' garden plot. The gardening season is just kicking off and now is a great time to plant some tomatoes, peppers, or pumpkins. We hope you will garden with us this year.

To reserve your plot, email viewsforward@grandview.edu, you will have a numbered plot assigned to you, as well as the combination to the tool shed.
