Selected to Campus Compact AmeriCorps Program
October 11, 2019
Congratulations to the students selected into the Campus Compact AmeriCorps Program at Grand View. Jasmine Echeverria, Emily Andrews, Colby Williams and Marissa Ruppel will spend the next year serving 300 hours in the community!
Campus Compact AmeriCorps members will support Grand View University’s Civic Action Planning committee in 2019-20 by developing new Campus-Community programming areas. One initiative, the Views Forward Project, recognizes the impact the University has had on the neighborhood and aims to bring continued positive change through genuine and sustainable projects, programs and events that involve residents and businesses. The Project works with neighborhood leaders representing Highland Park, Union Park, Capitol Park, and Martin Luther King, Jr. Park to identify and develop initiatives that meet community needs and expand opportunities for Grand View students to serve, learn and build ties to the east side of Des Moines.
