The Excellence in Service Award 2020
May 20, 2020
Congratulations to Britt Einerson, Assistant to the Athletic Director, for being honored with The Excellence in Service Award. The award recognizes an outstanding staff member at Grand View University. Specifically, the award seeks to honor a staff member who:
1) Goes above and beyond their regular duties to positively impact all members of the Grand View community.
Britt is a welcome face to many on behalf of Grand View athletics and the rest of campus. She serves as the liaison between athletics and several committees across campus. She spends evenings throughout the year at athletic events as the Grand View administrator and teaches a class on campus, impacting the students in a positive manner. She oversees game management for athletic events and has taken the lead in Grand View’s preparations to host conference and national championships for the NAIA. All of her actions enhance the Grand View experience for student-athletes, parents, fans, community members and staff.
2) Performs in his/her position at an exemplary level.
Britt is the “go to person” for anyone who needs just about anything within the athletic department, and she is also tends to be the “go-to” for all other constituents in the Des Moines community for just about anything regarding GV Athletics. Britt will put her “to-do” list aside to help others when they come to her for help (daily), never hesitating to put others before herself. She coordinates the student-athlete experience when we host championships and takes the lead to organize many fundraisers and Champion of Character events throughout the year. Britt is never afraid to step-in when asked, regardless of the duty. She sacrifices family time to ensure athletic events at GV are accomplished in a highly professional and effective manner. She is a tireless worker who puts forth incredible effort to ensure that everything she is associated with is performed at the highest level possible. She understands the impact of her interactions with the community and how those interactions represent Grand View. There is no clock for Britt, it is always about doing whatever it takes to make sure all aspects of her work and the work she does for others is completed at the highest standard.
3) Shows passion, commitment, and enthusiasm for Grand View’s mission to engage, equip, and empower students and contributes to the vitality of the institution outside of required job duties.
Britt is a Grand View Viking for life and former student athlete. On top of Britt’s regular duties, she dedicates time to better the Grand View community through serving on various committees and programs. She volunteers throughout different homecoming planning events and serves on the Views Forward committee, driving community involvement to Grand View. Britt helps engage community schools by coordinating and facilitating student-athlete meetings with high school students. She is a campus partner, attending monthly eastside FuseDSM meetings representing Grand View in this private, not-for-profit business member organization aimed at fostering economic development and growth of member businesses and the Des Moines community. She also supports our partnerships with Catch Des Moines in hosting many different events on campus and in the Des Moines area. She serves on the Grand View Hall of Fame committee, works with local businesses coordinating sponsorships for athletics and heads the Viktor’s Circle Alumni Engagement group. She dedicates times outside of the regular workday to be a positive face for Grand View in the community, to the student-body, to prospective students and the alumni.
Congratulations Britt. Well deserved!!!
