Third Annual Moses Project Wellness Retreat
January 31, 2022
Grand View’s Campus Ministry is pleased to announce the successful completion of the third annual Moses Project Wellness Retreat. Rural pastors from eight states traveled to Des Moines for three days of fellowship, laughter, and learning. The retreat began with stations of fun and included daily mystery gifts, music and worship by Grand View’s Dr. Michael Elsbernd, professional development provided by Kent Schornack, Grand View’s Director of Leadership and Counseling, and time with mentors and mini-cohorts. One pastor said, “I think this retreat has been the best so far…the openness, the sense of community building, the freedom to lament and praise…the benefits I have been hoping for quite often have been realized.”
The Moses Project, housed at Grand View University, is a Lilly funded grant that focuses on helping rural pastors in the ELCA thrive in ministry. Pastors enjoyed accommodations at the Downtown Embassy Suites with programming focused on spiritual, social, emotional, and vocational well-being. Programming and conference arrangements made by Dr. Trisha Wheelock and Ms. Jamie Lackey.
