Viesselman Appointed to CAATE Professional Program Accreditation Council

Christopher Viesselman, EdD, LAT, ATC, Assistant Professor of Kinesiology & Health Promotion, has been appointed to the CAATE Professional Program Accreditation Council (PPAC), which is the national body for accrediting Athletic Training programs. 

PPAC oversees the accreditation process for all accredited athletic training education programs, and makes recommendations for action on program accreditation to the CAATE Board of Commissioners.

In addition, Dr. Jessica Edler Nye, Assistant Professor of Kinesiology & Health Promotion, was appointed as the Vice Chair of the Education Committee for the CAATE this year. This committee develops all of the educational activities for the CAATE. This includes organizing the national CAATE Accreditation Conference each year.

Viesselman says, “I am humbled to be chosen to represent my profession and GVU in this new role. It is very exciting to be chosen to volunteer alongside Dr. Jessica Edler Nye within the CAATE.
