Grand View University Expands Leadership Development Training Opportunities

The Center for Mentoring, Coaching and Leadership Development at Grand View University is expanding its professional development offerings, providing new opportunities for individuals to strengthen their leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
Over the past five years, the Center has provided leadership development training to nearly 1,000 individuals and built a network of more than 20 trainers. With this strong foundation, the Center is broadening its reach to serve professionals across a variety of industries.
“The Center for Mentoring, Coaching, and Leadership Development at Grand View University provides high-quality training for a reasonable price in Compassionate Listening, Compassionate Leadership, and Building Compassionate Communities for individuals, groups and organizations that want to become better versions of themselves and more effective leaders in their spheres of influence,” said Dr. Paul Leavenworth, Director of the Center for Mentoring, Coaching and Leadership Development.
Programs are designed for educators and school administrators, health care professionals, nonprofit leaders, managers and other professionals who want to enhance their leadership and interpersonal skills.
The Center offers online training throughout the year, with additional in-person and online opportunities available for groups by request.

Mentoring, Coaching and Leadership Development Certificate
September 14 - November 22, 2026
The certificate process includes a Focused Life Workshop, a Mentoring, Coaching and Leadership Development Workshop and a mentor-coaching practicum. Participants develop skills in compassionate listening, coaching, leadership and interpersonal communication.
The Center also offers supplemental certificate opportunities in facilitating small discovery learning groups and MCLD consulting for individuals who complete the MCLD certificate process.
Mentor-Coaching Skills Training
October 12 - November 8, 2026
This four-week online training introduces participants to fundamental coaching skills and the power of discovery learning. Zoom sessions are included as part of the training.
