Ahmadu A. Baba-Singhri to Serve as Expert at World Food Prize Global Youth Institute

October 22, 2025

Professor Ahmadu A. Baba-Singhri of Grand View University’s Department of Criminal Justice and Sociology has been invited to serve as a Roundtable Expert at the 2025 World Food Prize Foundation Global Youth Institute. The event will take place in Des Moines, Iowa, on the afternoon of Wednesday, October 22, 2025.

This year, the Global Youth Institute will host 190 students representing 24 states and 10 countries. Each student has conducted in-depth research and written a paper on a topic affecting food security within a specific country. They will provide recommendations aimed at improving the lives of a typical family in that country. Students will present their findings in small-group roundtable discussions alongside experts in the field.

As a Roundtable Expert, Professor Baba-Singhri will support students by offering constructive feedback, encouraging reflective dialogue, and helping facilitate meaningful conversations. Each roundtable includes two to three experts and up to seven student delegates, with one expert serving as timekeeper and session introducer.

This role provides a unique opportunity to influence the next generation of leaders in food security and agriculture, help students expand their professional networks, and deepen their understanding of global challenges and solutions
