Brian Ohorilko Joins Grand View University Board of Trustees

Grand View University is pleased to welcome Brian Ohorilko, General Manager of Prairie Meadows, to its Board of Trustees. Ohorilko brings more than two decades of leadership and regulatory experience in Iowa’s gaming and racing industry and will assume the role of President and CEO of Prairie Meadows on January 1, 2026.

Prior to joining Prairie Meadows, Ohorilko spent 20 years with the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission, including 12 years as Administrator. During his tenure, he led major regulatory initiatives, oversaw the expansion of sports wagering, and guided the state through multiple new casino license proposals and approvals. His leadership helped modernize Iowa’s gaming landscape and earned recognition nationally, including his early work on intrastate internet poker regulation.

 At Prairie Meadows, Ohorilko has continued to leverage his extensive industry experience to support the organization’s mission and community impact. As incoming President and CEO, he will focus on strengthening Prairie Meadows’ role as a premier entertainment destination while expanding its economic and charitable contributions to central Iowa.

Outside his professional career, Ohorilko is deeply involved in Iowa athletics as a longtime sports official who has worked state championship games in football and both boys’ and girls’ basketball. He is also a certified coach and mentor in high school softball, helping student-athletes pursue success at both the high school and collegiate levels. Ohorilko holds degrees from Iowa State University and Central Michigan University.
