Celebrate International Women’s Day at Grand View University
January 26, 2026
Grand View University is proud to host a special International Women’s Day celebration designed to honor the achievements, leadership, and influence of women in our campus and broader community.
Among the highlights of the afternoon will be presentations and discussions led by distinguished women leaders. Speakers include Erin Kiernan, reporter and anchor at local television stations for nearly thirty years, and Claudia Schabel, Interim President and CEO of the Iowa Women’s Foundation and founder of Schabel Solutions, whose work helps organizations build inclusive practices and equity in workplaces and communities. Also speaking will be Erica Axiotis, President of UnityPoint Health – Des Moines Foundation, who leads fundraising efforts for major health facilities in central Iowa; and Rocio Hermosilla ’13, Co‑founder and CEO of Team ELLLA, a Latina‑led real estate team expanding opportunities in underserved communities. The program will be moderated by Kendall Dillon, Vice President of Marketing & Communications at Grand View University.
International Women’s Day is a global occasion celebrated each year to highlight the social, economic, cultural, and political contributions of women. This year’s celebration will bring together voices that inspire, challenge, and empower us to reflect on the progress made and the work still to be done.
