Dana Wingert '11 Joins Grand View University Board of Trustees

Grand View University is pleased to announce the election of Dana Wingert '11 to its Board of Trustees. Approved during the Board's May 2026 meeting, Wingert will begin his term at the Board's October 2026 meeting.

A distinguished law enforcement leader and Grand View alumnus, Wingert served as Chief of Police for the Des Moines Police Department from 2015 to 2024 after more than three decades of service with the department.

Throughout his career, Wingert served in every division of the Des Moines Police Department, ultimately leading the organization through periods of significant change while emphasizing public safety, community engagement, and crime prevention. Following his retirement in 2024, he was appointed to the Iowa Board of Parole, where he continues his commitment to public service.

Wingert earned his degree from Grand View University in 2011 and was recognized with the university's Distinguished Alumni Award in 2016. His extensive leadership experience and dedication to serving the community will provide valuable insight as a member of Grand View's Board of Trustees.
