Dr. Tajammal Yasin Joins MSW Program

Dr. Tajammal Yasin joins Grand View University as an Assistant Professor in the Master of Social Work Program. He is a social work educator, child and family welfare scholar, and applied program evaluator whose work connects research, practice, and teaching to strengthen children, families, and the systems that serve them.

 

Dr. Yasin earned his Ph.D. and Master of Social Work from the Helen Bader School of Social Welfare at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee. At Grand View, he teaches online, synchronous, and in-person graduate courses. His scholarship focuses on child and family well-being, and the intergenerational effects of adversity.

 

Before joining Grand View, Dr. Yasin served as Program Evaluation Manager at the Medical College of Wisconsin, where he managed statewide evaluation initiatives supporting community-based organizations across Wisconsin. He has also held research and evaluation positions with the American Indian College Fund, the Institute for Child and Family Well-Being, United Way of Greater Milwaukee & Waukesha County, and the Center for Public Policy and Governance in Pakistan. His research has been published in peer-reviewed journals, including Children and Youth Services Review, Journal of Interpersonal Violence, Sleep Medicine Reviews, Health Education & Behavior, and SSM–Qualitative Research in Health, and he has presented his work nationally through the Society for Social Work and Research and the American Public Health Association.

 

Dr. Yasin is committed to preparing future social workers who combine compassion with critical thinking and use evidence to create meaningful, lasting change in the lives of individuals, families, and communities.
