Grand View Student Leaders Attend NECU Student Summit

Grand View University student leaders Jaqueline Beltran-Martinez ’28 and Jacob Butz ’27 attended the Network of ELCA Colleges & Universities (NECU) Student Summit in Chicago, Illinois, September 18-20.

Throughout the summit, Beltran-Martinez and Butz connected with student representatives from NECU institutions across the country and explored the theme of vocation and the importance of becoming “context creators” rather than simply “content creators.”

The summit provided opportunities to learn from peers at colleges and universities across the nation, collaborate with students from Waldorf University and Wartburg College on an interinstitutional project, and hear about the opportunities and challenges facing student communities at other institutions. They returned to Grand View with new perspectives and ideas to share with the campus community.
