Grand View University to Welcome Danish Ambassador Jesper Møller Sørensen for Special Campus Visit and I-Cubs First Pitch

Grand View University will welcome Danish Ambassador to the United States Jesper Møller Sørensen for a special evening of conversation, connection, and community on Friday, May 22, 2026.
The event will begin with a reception from 4:30 to 5 p.m. in the Prairie Meadows Photo Gallery inside the Henning Student Center. Guests will then enjoy dinner and a conversation with Ambassador Møller Sørensen from 5 to 6:15 p.m., hosted by the Honorary Consulate of Denmark and Honorary Consul Lynette S. Rasmussen.
Following dinner, attendees are invited to continue the evening at Principal Park for the Iowa Cubs game, where Ambassador Møller Sørensen will throw out the ceremonial first pitch at 6:55 p.m. Reserved seating will be available for guests, and the game begins at 7:08 p.m.
This unique event offers students, faculty, alumni, and community members the opportunity to hear directly from one of Denmark’s top diplomats about the relationship between Denmark and the United States, as well as important international issues affecting both nations.
Ambassador Møller Sørensen currently serves as Denmark’s Ambassador to the United States at the Royal Danish Embassy in Washington, D.C. Before taking on this role, he served as State Secretary for Foreign Policy in Denmark’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 2019 to 2023 and as Political Director from 2015 to 2019.
His distinguished diplomatic career also includes service as Ambassador to Pakistan, Deputy Ambassador to Afghanistan, and Minister Counsellor for political affairs at the Royal Danish Embassy in Washington, D.C. He began his career with Denmark’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1997 and has held key international roles throughout Europe, Asia, and the United States.
