Nielsen Concert Series Presents: The Des Moines Early Music Ensemble

Grand View University will host the Des Moines Early Music Ensemble on Monday, November 10, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. in the Speed Lyceum located in the Henning Student Center. The performance, part of the university’s Nielsen Concert Series, is titled Singen und Klingen: Choral Music of the German Renaissance and Baroque.

The ensemble will present an evening of rich and intricate choral music that spans the German Renaissance and Baroque eras. Through pieces that highlight the evolution of harmony, texture, and sacred expression, the program offers listeners a glimpse into a pivotal time in European musical history. The concert will feature works that bring to life centuries-old traditions with attention to historical style and performance practice.
