Viktory Day of Giving Breaks Records with Unprecedented Support from Grand View Community
June 30, 2025
Grand View University’s 5th annual Viktory Day of Giving brought in a record number of gifts, raising 939 gifts and $156,685 to support students, programs, and initiatives across campus. The 24-hour fundraising event saw contributions from alumni, faculty, staff, students, parents, and friends of the University.
Donors supported more than 46 different areas on campus, with strong enthusiasm shown for scholarships, academic programs, and athletics. Several challenge and matching gifts helped amplify the day’s impact, inspiring others to give. Alumni from the class of 1949 through 2025 made gifts during the annual day.
“This kind of momentum is only possible because the Grand View community believes in our mission and our students,” said LB Lyons, Vice President for Advancement. “Viktory Day is more than just a fundraiser, it’s a celebration of what we can accomplish when we work together. The passion, generosity, and pride shown on Viktory Day was remarkable.”
Throughout the day, alumni and friends shared why they love GV across social media platforms. Alumni shared their GV story, encouraged participation, and celebrated each milestone.
Carrie Sponheim, Director of Annual Giving, emphasized the importance of Viktory Day for the Grand View community, “Whether someone gave $5 or $5,000, every gift made a difference and students will feel that impact.”
