Lee and Diane (Gill '76) Doidge Endowed Biology Scholarship
Lee Doidge started at Grand View in 1968. He taught a variety of courses over his 40-year tenure. Over Professor Doidge's time at Grand View the biology department grew and saw numerous improvements in curriculum and facilities. He retired as the long-serving department chairperson. Dr. Diane (Gill '76) Doidge was a biology professor at Grand View for 33 years. Over her tenure she helped develop a career exploration course for biology majors, Bio 150. As an instructor her goal was to help students discover what made them happy in life and to help them achieve it. This scholarship is given in honor of the Doidges' guidance, mentorship and friendship by Dr. Steven Neville '07.
Students must meet these qualifications:
- Pre-professional or science major; preference given to Biology students
- Junior or sophomore class standing
- GPA 3.0 or higher
- Has financial need as defined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
- 150 word essay from applicants sharing how their biology major will help them with their vocation
