Julefest 2020

Our Hope & Expectation (Online Premiere)

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s Julefest concert will be an interactive virtual experience.

We know this year has been a bleak one filled with anxiety and confusion. In Julefest 2020, Grand View University’s Advent and Christmas gift to the community, we will acknowledge the grief and anxieties we are all feeling, but we will also hear God’s promise to come to us, to be near us in times of trouble, and to claim us as his own in love. We invite you to join us as the Grand View Choir and Wind Ensemble remind us of God’s love through music.

To participate in the concert, please register today. You will be sent a link for the concert premiere in early December.

Julefest 2019

Peace and Love and Hope Abide

Grand View’s Julefest 2019 was entitled Peace and Love and Hope Abide. In a world where peace, love and hope sometimes seem to be in short supply, we pause to hear the promise of the Prince of Peace. Long-foretold, the Christchild came as the Prince of Peace to shower us with his redeeming love and give us hope. Join with the Grand View Choir and Wind Ensemble as they tell this story – where Peace and Love and Hope Abide – even still.

This annual Christmas celebration was held on December 7, 2019, at 7:30 p.m. and December 8, 2019, at 4:00 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 600 6th Avenue, Des Moines, Iowa. Doors opened a half hour before each event.
