Our Hope & Expectation
Julefest 2020: Our Hope and Expectation was held as an interactive virtual premiere at 7:30 p.m. on December 5, 2020 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
We know 2020 has been a bleak filled year of anxiety and confusion. With Julefest 2020, we acknowledged the grief and anxieties we have all felt, but also heard God’s promise to come to us, to be near us in times of trouble, and to claim us as his own in love. We invite you to watch below as Grand View's Choir and Wind Ensemble reminds us of God’s love through music.
Julefest 2019
Peace and Love and Hope Abide
Grand View’s Julefest 2019 was entitled Peace and Love and Hope Abide. In a world where peace, love and hope sometimes seem to be in short supply, we pause to hear the promise of the Prince of Peace. Long-foretold, the Christchild came as the Prince of Peace to shower us with his redeeming love and give us hope. Join with the Grand View Choir and Wind Ensemble as they tell this story – where Peace and Love and Hope Abide – even still.
This annual Christmas celebration was held on December 7, 2019, at 7:30 p.m. and December 8, 2019, at 4:00 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 600 6th Avenue, Des Moines, Iowa. Doors opened a half hour before each event.
